 Website Profile: The United Pagan Church is a nexus where people of all religious followings or cultures can come and interact with others of like mind. In a time when so much negativity is being spread and things look pretty hopeless, we are here to spread positive energy and reinforcement to those in need. UPC is a place to discover self first, because it is through discovering one’s self that we can then understand the magick we all share.
We are also about community activity and promote a help yourself and take what is rightfully your attitude, without creating strife or projecting arrogance. Because we support political action to achieve this social attitude we cannot and will not file for a 501c status. We are a “Virtual” Church and we are here to help people connect with others who have the same needs and to spread the meaning of religious equality and Pagan Pride.
The Church is lead by Reverend Ray Caughlin, a born Pagan who has been a Minister since 1999. As a Wiccan Minister inspired by the Family Tradition culture from which he comes, Reverend Caughlin strives to bring back the idea of community and help other Pagans cope with stresses and problem by adopting or returning to these simpler ways. “As magick users we have the Constitutional right to equal representation under the law and we must demand (maturely and legally) those equalities. This era of slap people in the face with extreme views of Pagans and magick does more harm to our movement than help. We have to be gracious and show the world that Paganism and Earth based religions are beautiful and loving religions.” Paganism and Earth based religions have existed for thousands of years often hidden from the “radical mainstream religions” which shows that historically we have existed without any other’s approval and will continue. The difference now is, we are in a more enlightened time and our goal is equality under the Constitution.
Our Church site is family oriented and we have many areas for members and friends to post pictures of friends, family and critters to share with others. There are pages that share many types or rural life, both arts and crafts and farm related. This doesn’t mean we are only here for the country witches. Even city witches commune with the Goddess through kitchen window gardens and herb gardens. Our “Ask for Celestial Forgiveness” page is eye opening and there is also a page where visitors can light a virtual candle for friends and family.
