 Website Profile: I wanted to create a place for local pagans of all paths in the general Schenectady area to be able to get to know one another. I know there is a booming Albany collective, but there is NOTHING for anyone outside of it. Not everyone has the means to get to Albany on a regular basis and I've heard many say how sad they are that there are no pagan groups in the Schenectady area. Well, we ARE here and I hope by setting this up, we will be able to get to know one another and possibly forge some new friendships. I'd really like to get to know folks in my area since I moved out here about 7 years ago. I check out people's profiles here too, and I think some of you who live where I am might benefit from meeting new faces. I'm not a scary person; I'm just as human as you and would like to be able to get to know you better.
Of course, this is set up for Facebook users, but I wasn't sure how else to go about it. You will need to have a Facebook account to participate. Once you know about it, it's not totally necessary to use FB, but just to get the message out for starters. If you're on FB, and you have local pagan friends, let them know about this. I think it's worth it. If you have a FB account, go to your search area and type in 'Electric City Magick Circle'. Once there, you can check it out, see if this is something you're interested in. if so, join and participate. If not, that's up to you. Pass it along, write me an e-mail about what I could do better, offer advice, whatever I can do to make this something you WOULD like to be a part of.
If you're part of a coven/circle, I'm welcome to that as well. This may be an ideal setting to promote your group via my site, seek new members, announce pagan events.
I am ACTIVELY seeking new members, so if you'd like to join, please let me know!! I WANT this group to expand. I welcome local college students as well--Union, and SCCC. If you are looking for a forum for local pagans, this is your opportunity to meet some new faces.
My last reason for creating this was to do something about the void that is Schenectady. There are NO pagan organizations here anymore. Anything that had existed has moved out or disbanded. Maybe there are groups who choose to remain secret, but that's their choice if they want to remain private. If you really would like to do something about the apathy here, then take a look at the group and take a chance.
