winter

Event Details: winter solstice is the solstice that occurs in winter. It is the time at which the Sun is appearing at noon at its lowest altitude above the horizonYule is the time of year when Pagans and Wiccans celebrate the Winter Solstice. If you're in the Northern Hemisphere, this will be on around December 21, but if you're below the Equator, your Yule celebration will fall in June. This Sabbat is considered the longest night of the year, and following Yule, the sun begins its long journey back to earth. Try some or even all of these ideas -- obviously, space may be a limiting factor for some, but use what calls to you most.Yule

About Holland Park

Gather at the 29-acre Holland Park, one of Surrey's newest and most urban parks.

Walk down from the famed City Centre Library to meet for a walk down the walking paths. Or, stop and lounge in the active grass area. You'll find plenty to look at, including horticultural areas, fountains and public art.

In the summer, attend community and city events, like the annual Fusion Festival, in Holland Park's performance spaces, or, if you're feeling like relaxing, just sit and enjoy watching your children play on the playground from a park bench.
