Traditional Wicca Outer-Court Training

When: Wednesday night. 1-2 times per month.
Where: Auckland, New Zealand

Outer-Court Training in Alexandrian & Gardnerian Wicca

Event Details: It is very important that the members of our coven and therefore aspirants for training are committed to learning the mysteries of Wicca and are sincere and serious about undertaking outer-court training. All applicants should hold in mind a view of possible future initiation as a priestess or priest in both the Gardnerian & Alexandrian traditions of the Craft, however this is a privelege and responsibility and not a right and therefore is not guaranteed. There are no short cuts.

"WHAT ARE YOUR REQUIREMENT FOR MEMBERSHIP?"
We are selective and very careful who we accept for training. After initial applications are received you will receive a reply by email and a discussion on the telephone will be scheduled with a coven member or elder. Later, if all goes well a meeting and casual interview will take place...usually in a public location. This allows both us and you to ask questions and discuss Wicca in general.

*Applications must be at least 16-17 years of age to commence training classes. (However no one will be initiated into our coven, or any traditional coven prior to 18 years of age) .

* Applicants must have enough time in their schedule to commit to attending trainings and if accepted at a later time Full Moon Esbats and Sabbats. Making time for personal practice, reading, lessons and meditation is also important.

* If you have a partner or spouse are they OK with you joining a coven? Or if you are under 18 years of age and live with your parents, have you told them?

We do not accept for training or membership people who are currently undergoing treatment and taking medication for serious Mental Health issues. This does not include Psychotherapy and Counselling, which is highly recommended for anyone seeking personal insight and development.

"I AM INTERESTED IN APPLYING, WHAT DO I DO NEXT?"
1. Read the various sections of this website? In particular:
"Enquiry Process & Applications for Membership"
"Outer Court Training Syllabus"
"Temple History and Lineage"
"Intentions of the Temple"
"About the Alexandrian Tradition"
"About Gardnerian Wicca"

2. Do you have a basic idea of what traditional, coven based Wicca and witchcraft is and is not? Do you know who Gerald Gardner, Alex and Maxine Sanders, Robert Cochrane and Doreen Valiente are?
3. Write a DETAILED email outlining the following and any other information you think may be useful in your application:
* Your name and age and general location within New Zealand.
* Do you work? If so what general area is your career. Or if you study, what are you studying?
* Why do you seek Wiccan training and want to join a coven?
* Your thoughts & ideas on your spirituality & Wicca and magic.
* Do you have transport & can you travel within Auckland area?
* What has been your spiritual journey so far in this life?
* What books have you read on Wicca, Paganism, Magic, esotericism etc.
* Are you ever been a member of any coven, pagan, esoteric, magical or ceremonial group or organisation?
* What personal attributes or skills would you bring to a coven?
* Do you currently meditate, have a personal altar and try to follow the moons and seasons?

No time-wasters please. But for those who genuinely seek to learn with a view of possible eventual initiation in the Gardnerian and Alexandrian traditions of Wicca and can commit time, energy and hard work I look forward to your email. Yes there is also a lot of fun and laughter, learning and friendship in a coven...but it is always a balance between mirth and reverence.

Blessed Be

Event Location: To be advised after application. in Auckland
Event TIME Details: 7pm - 9:30pm including shared supper.

Directions: Directions will be provided when the aspirant has been interviewed by phone or in person and is accepted for commencing training.
