Summer Solstice Whatipu Cave Camp

Event Details: Join us at Whatipu for a long weekend to enjoy the beautiful beach, swimming and fishing it has to offer. Many walks and of course the sacred Whatipu cave to which we will hike to Sunday late afternoon to drum down the sun and witness the beautiful sunset. Our Priestess will perform our solstice ritual, followed by merryment, chanting and dancing the shortest night of the year at our traditional summer solstice cave home. This is the traditional start of 10 day feastive and summer holiday seaon that will continue to New Years day, celebrating the births of our High Priest and High Priestess

Event Location: Whatipu Rd in Waitakere
Event TIME Details: Opens Saturday 12 pm through to 12pm Monday
 Directions: Signposted from Titirangi and leads to the southern region of the Waitakere Ranges including Cornwallis, Huia and Whatipu. From Little Huia take the 7km Whatipu Rd to Whatipu. (Caution: much of Whatipu Rd is gravel, winding and narrow) . End of Rd is the campground entrance next to lodge, open gate and dive in and setup. Staff come over later on in evening to collect camp fees. $5 per head. For those wishing to stay in the lodge ring and book directly with the Whatipu lodge to find out costs. Great value I'm sure!: )
