Pete and the MEF team announces...

Magick Earth Festival - MEF

When: Dec. 20th. 2012 - Dec. 23rd. 2012
Where: Auckland, New Zealand

Summer Solstice Festival

Event Details: MEF is about Celebrating Earth based Spirituality amongst friends.
Our events are gatherings and celebrations for people who follow the earth and nature based faiths, religions and beliefs. They are essentially focused on...

• family and community
• networking and community building through discussions and public forums
• the sharing of information through workshops and lectures
• the celebration of pagan and heathen music, art and culture

Established in March 2005 there are several Magick Earth Festivals held around the North Island each year.

The difference between Magic Earth and other festivals is that nobody is paid to do anything so we can keep the costs down and we encourage participation by everybody and create a community effort to help each other and share our knowledge and experience.

Each MEF event features stalls, lectures, workshops and discussion forums as well as rituals appropriate to the timing or theme of the festival. Some have drumming circles or bardic circles. They have also become a place for folks to get together for rites of passage ceremonies such as Wiccanings (or Namings) and Handfastings (Weddings) .

This is a very family friendly place, most of us have kids and they enjoy mixing togeather and entertaining each other in a loosly supervised environment.

It is about honouring our Earth Mother, our ancestors, celebrating our individual chosen paths and connecting with like-minded souls from many different traditions.

The venue has very limited dorm space with mattress and plenty of room for tents.

Early Bird camping prices - Adults $50, Kids $40, this price includes your tent site and dinner on Thursday thru Saturday nights. Other meals are available to purchase from the Magick Kitchen or you can bring your own.
We welcome you all and encourage you to tell any friends and family who may be interested about it.

Day visitors are welcome on Saturday $5 per adult, kids free

For more details you can phone or text Pete on 021 0572722

Special Events on the weekend !

Community Dinners: I believe that sitting down and eating dinner together helps to build our sense of community so I always like to make a Community Dinner a part of my events, I also encourage you to sit with somebody you don't yet know.

Round Table Discussion: We have a quick run around the circle and give everybody a chance to tell us about what relevant things (moots, coffee groups, Drum circles etc) are happening in your neck of the woods.

Current schedule - this may change:

Several activities on the weekend will be for the kids to make some ritual tools and to decorate an alter that will be used in the Kids Ritual on Sunday afternoon

Several workshops will be for beginners who want to learn more about rituals and how to put one on, it's not really that scary.
