A Yuletide Ritual and Celebration

Celebrating the Winter Solstice
Event Details: Known as Solstice Night, or the longest night of the year, the sun's "rebirth" has always been celebrated by pagans with much joy. On this night, our ancestors celebrated the rebirth of the Oak King, the Sun King, the Giver of Life who warmed the frozen Earth. From this day forward, the days would become longer.
This is the time when the sun returns to the earth once more and we begin to leave the long dark nights behind us. Little by little, the days grow longer and on this night we celebrate the sun's return.
Deep in the woods the Ankerwycke witches will process along candle lit paths until they are under the sacred yew tree, lit by hundreds of tea lights. The altar will be decorated with holly and mistletoe and maybe the first of the snowdrops.
The drums will begin to beat and a transforming ritual will begin as it has done here for many years.
Details of the evening are being kept under wraps, only to be shared but those present on the night. It promises to be a truly magical night. Please join us.
