The history and practical application of amulets and talisman
Event Details: Tonight's illustrated talk explores the construction, symbolism and ritual uses of talismans, prophylacteries, and amulets. We travel the centuries, meeting Ficino, Agrippa, Paracelsus, and later the Golden Dawn and Regardie. Come in for a night of exploration of the basic astrological and symbolic principles of talismans; their natural components; their spiritual qualities. Roxani also looks at their psychological dimensions, including Jung's groundbreaking theories, and the different historical/social contexts in which they evolved. How potent could the power of these talismans be? Roxani is a visual artist, currently exploring to unite art with the exploration of the psyche. She has just finished her MA in Western Esotericism at the University of Exeter.
