Learn from the Lore

Event Details: Celtic Studies Discussion Group, facilitated by Rev. Linda Costello

Meets twice monthly at Comic Zone, Scottsdale's newest comic book store, first and third Tuesday of the month from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm.

We will be discussing some of the scholarly works regarding Iron Age Celtic times, including archeological finds, lore, and well-researched information and inferences regarding lifestyles and practices.

Some of the books that we will be discussing include:
Celtic Heritage by Alwyn and Brinsley Rees
The Celtic Realms by Myles Dillon and Nora Chadwick
The Historical Atlas of the Celtic World by John Haywood
The World of the Druids by Miranda Green
The Celtic Heroic Age, edited by John T. Koch
Ancient Irish Tales, edited by Cross & Slover
The Mabinogion, translated by Patrick Ford
The Ancient Celts by Barry Cunliffe
Cattle Lords and Clansmen by Nerys Patterson
Carmina Gadelica by Alexander Carmichael
Sex and Marriage in Ancient Ireland by Patrick C. Power
Celtic Mythology by Proinsias Mac Cana
Mythic Ireland by Michael Dames

We will also be discussing any new discoveries that people find in current events.
