Druid 101



When: We will be having a new Druid 101 class
Where: Phoenix, Arizona

Druid 101 6 week class

Event Details: Druid 101: taught by Rev. Linda Costello and Avery Goodman

In this six-week series, we will introduce the ideology and definition of a Druid, often drawing upon historical information about druids. We will be talking about the Wheel of the Year and the cycles of nature. This will lead into concepts of basic cosmology including discussion about polytheism and the deities. We will emphasize the importance of and the power of the word, as well as discussiong other common symbols and tools. We will conclude our series with a discussion on the elements of ritual, including a simple daily practice which can be implemented immediately. We will be providing a recommended reading list for beginners.

Outline of classes:

Week 1: Blessing Rite; What is a Druid?

Week 2: Historical references to Druids; Druids today

Week 3: Wheel of the Year; Cycles of Life

Week 4: Cosmology; Polytheism; Gods and Goddesses

Week 5: Power of the Word; Symbols and Tools

Week 6: Ritual elements; Daily practice

Each class can be taken separately, although it is recommended that all six classes be attended for continuity.
