The great tradition continues August 1, 2009 at the Water of Life Church
Beginning at 8am
Every year under the blazing hot sun,
Sweat dripping from brow,
The woad Warriors gather,
Muscles bulging,
Kilts flutter,
The woad Warriors gather.
Competitors pushed to the limits,
Skills tested,
The woad Warriors compete.
Stones thrown across stormy sky,
Thud on earth mother,
The woad Warriors compete
For whom do they risk injury,
And pain?
The folk of SSG
Come one and all, to support our fine competitors. See them in games of skills. Cheer them in victory. Support them in defeat. Finally understand why some are lizard killers and others have gotten beat by a girl.
The monetary donation for lunch, drinks, and snacks is $10. In order to have lunch and drinks for the folk this year please RSVP with Julie (jadonov@yahoo.com) .

Event Location: 3269 North Mountain Avenue in Tucson in Tucson
Event TIME Details: Starts at 8am and ends at 4pm
Directions: Water of Life MCC is one block north of Fort Lowell on Mountain Ave.
***Due to current construction, N. Mountain is closed north of Ft. Lowell. To get to the Church parking lot, go one block west of Mountain and turn north on E. Navajo Rd. and at the curve, there is a back gate opening to the parking lot.***
If you are coming from Phoenix or North of Prince Road take I-10 to Prince Ave. Turn East on Prince. Take Prince to Mountain Ave and turn right. The Mcc Church will be on the right hand side before the next stop light (Fort Lowell) .
