Solar Eclipse- Dark of the Moon Festival
When: May. 20th. 2012
Where: Phoenix, Arizona
Gathering of the 'Pagan and Heathen Tribes of Phoenix"
Event Details: This will be an EPIC gathering of all of the Phoenix Arizona Pagans and Heathens (The 'Tribes') as we are starting to call ourselves) for the celebration of the Solar Eclipse and the New Moon in 2012.
From 4:30pm to 5:30pm, we will have speakers from every Tradition in the Phoenix area possible. They will talk about why the New Moon and the Solar Eclipse is important to their belief system and what rituals and celebrations would have been conducted.
From 5:30pm to sundown, we will have open ritual space for everyone to celebrate this momentous day in out life.
After sundown, we will all sit down at a huge set of tables where we will enjoy a Potluck meal among friends with volunteers serving cold drinks to everyone. A Cash Bar will be available and the feasting and toasting and boasting will continue until 9pm.
As this is styled on an Ancient Irish Hearth Feast from the 1st century, we will have a few 'games' to be played in the Manor House before we eat.
A 'Champion/ Hero' will be chosen by feat of strength and will be offered the first choice of the meal.
A 'Bard/Skald' will be chosen for feat of music-song-or voice and will be offered the first choice of drink.
An Artist will be chosen based upon other traditions requirements and will be offered another appropriate prize.
A silent auction will be offered with all of the artistic donations, so everyone has a chance to bring home some of the local artist's wares.
Everyone should bring things that they have made if they wish to display it on the Artist Display Table. Everything on the Donation Table will also be viewed an judged.

Event TIME Details: 4pm Gathering... 6pm Solar Eclipse...7pm Potluck
Directions: The Irish Cultural Center is located in downtown Phoenix and public parking is limited, but there is a large public parking area very close by.
Come south on Central Ave and turn west onto Culver street. Parking will be available on the left side within the Park (Margaret Hance Park) and then you just walk south across a very short grassy area to the Irish Cultural Center.
Guides and Attendants will be available to ask for directions or assistance. There are some few handicapped parking spots available, so please arrive early to get the closest parking.
