Grove of the Rising Phoenix announces...
Winter Solstice

Public Winter Solstice
Event Details: This will be an ADF style Irish rite, however the Grove is not in charge of this event. This is an event put on by the Irish Cultural Center and GRP is their guest to put on ritual.
All are welcome to join us, as we gather at the Irish Center in Phoenix to celebrate the ancient festival of Solstice. Solstice, now as in ancient times, marks the longest night of the year, whereby the Sun will go to its lowest elevation in the sky, before returning to start a new cycle with nature.
The occasion is marked with music, poetry, fun and food. Outside events start at 5:00 p.m. The oldest celebrated festival will follow at 5:30pm. Later, a lone bagpiper will lead us to where the Grove of the Rising Phoenix will share their ritual traditions.
A cash bar and the serving of food starts at 4:00 p.m.when doors open. Chef Donna Donahue will be serving Shepherds Pie for $10.00. Everyone can enjoy a nice hot chocolate or hot apple cider for $1.00
Event cost: includes event, carols and Irish music
$5 for adults 12 and over (children under 12 are free)

The library is finished and you can now turn in to the ICC instead of having to drive down to Portland and come in through the hotel parking lot.
