Samhain Public Free Ritual
When: Nov. 4th. 2009
Where: North Hills, California
Celebrate the Days of the Dead with an earth-centered tradition
Event Details: Celebrate Samhain with the Tribe of the Horizons, an earth-centered tradition based on indigenous teachings, cosponsored by Onion CUUPS. This ritual is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4th, at 7:00pm at the Onion, home to the Sepulveda Unitarian Universalist Society, 9550 Haskell Avenue, North Hills, CA 91343.
In this Halloween ritual, the best known Pagan holiday, we give respect to our ancestors and the honored dead. During the event, we will make portable ancestor altars to take home. The ritual itself starts at 7:30.
Participants are encouraged to bring pieces of paper to write on (these will be burned) and something small (a picture or other memorabilia) for the portable altar to remind them of a loved one who has died. During the ritual, participants will be asked to share a brief memory of that loved one. We also welcome drums, rattles, or any other rhythm instruments.
People are welcome to witness the ritual if they don't want to get
involved but we strongly encourage participation. For more information or directions, drop us an e-mail (the SUUS office) .

located in North Hills in the East San Fernando Valley near the 405
freeway. It is south of the 118 and north of the 101 freeways.
