Iris Firebird announces...

Witch Weed Walks

When: Almost every Sunday
Where: Canoga Park, California

witches pouch of herbal allies

Event Details: The CWC sponsors the WWW and the Witches Pouch of Herbal Allies,
this series of walks will be presented by green witch and CWC Priestess Iris Firebird.

Did you ever wish you had a little better knowledge of the herbal allies? Want to be able to ID useful plants in the wild, recognize baneful plants and the ones used for food, medicine and magic?
Come stroll with us on Sundays and explore the plant world. Southern California is especially magical in many ways from its diverse flora and fauna to its geologic features.
We will discuss ways to honor and connect to the plant, how to gather and preserve plant material as well as some lore and magical applications. Proper plant identification is an essential skill if you intend to consume, or use plant material in any way. We will learn the botanical names, and some of the history behind the names, as well as common names and some of the confusion this can cause.
The Witch Weed Walks are for magic folk of any tradition, and will be a series of moderate hikes at various locations in the West San Fernando Valley and Agoura. Each walk will be approximately 1 mile round trip and 2 hours in length.
See the plants change as the season progresses. We will continue through May or June, or until it is too hot. We will pick up again in the fall, and explore the change from sprout to plant to flower to seed, and back again!

BRING: Comfy walking shoes, hat & or sunblock, lightweight jacket, water, snack (if needed) , notebook and pen, plastic bag, scotch tape, cutting tool (knife or clippers) and binoculars if you have them.

Blessings, to those on the path and among the green, ...Iris
