The Inner Temple is thrilled to announce the opportunity to study with one of the most talented percussionists and shamanic drummers living today! Please join us at the incomparable Great Spirits Ranch on the second Tuesday of every month for “The Sacred Compact of Spirit and Drum” with world renowned hand drummer, Jamie Papish! http://jamiepapishmusic.com
Once a month, we will gather round the heartfire of the authentic Plains Nation Teepee for a whole and holy voyage on the sea of drum, chant, and spontaneous creation!

About Jamie:
Completely immersing himself in the culture and music of the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe, and apprenticing under master Arabic drummer, Souhail Kaspar, Jamie Papish has become one of the most sought after hand drummers in the world! Specializing in Doumbek, Riq, Frame Drums, Cajon, Udu, and Turkish Davul, Jamie is a master of rhythms and percussion styles from around the planet! Jamie is a member of the critically acclaimed Yuval Ron Ensemble and is currently in residency at Disney’s California Adventure with the Stefani Valadez Ensemble and the iST/West Ensemble. In professional music circles, he has created a reputation for excellence and is highly in demand as a World Music master teacher and performer, having played such noteworthy venues as the Ford Amphitheater, Skirvall Cultural Center, Getty Museum, Zipper Hall, San Diego’s Museum of Modern Art, USC, UCLA, Houston’s Rothko Chapel, Yale University, The Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York and Seattle’s Symphony Hall. Internationally, Jamie has performed in Egypt, Turkey, Spain, Jordan, Mexico, Israel, Poland, and South Korea; most notably having given a command performance for the king of Morocco and a private audience to the Dali Lama.
Jamie Papish has numerous recording credits to his name, including “Floodplain” with the Kronos Quartet, “Under the Olive Tree”, “Tree of Life”, and “Seeker of Truth” with the Yuval Ron Ensemble, and “Promise to Freedom” and “Prayers on Tambour” with Heyraneh.
