Sacramento/Rio Linda Yule Celebration 2012
Event Details: Please join us as we celebrate Yule in the Barn at 6124 20th Street in Rio Linda on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, starting at 5:00 PM.
Everyone is welcome. Yes, children are more than welcome, too, when accompanied by responsible adults.
Bring a wrapped gift from the dollar store for each person you bring, potluck fare, a chair, and your own non-alcoholic drinks. For the children with you, bring a wrapped gift from the dollar store with their name on it. We try to have a few extra gifts on hand in case somebody forgets to bring one.
We also be will be asking for a voluntary donation of $1.00 for each person, to help defray Festival expenses.
After the Ceremony there will be a Potluck dinner. We like to have a traditional feast at this time, with turkey and Tofurky plus all the trimmings.
There will be an opportunity drawing during dinner. Our thanks go to everyone who donates items. Tickets will be sold for 50 cents each, or 15 for $5. Proceeds go to Circle needs, plus we hope to save up for a composting toilet. Until we get it, restroom visits inside our house must be kept to an absolute minimum. Hopefully there will be a camping potty available.
Please dress warmly and bring a flashlight, and a chair or blanket to sit on if possible.
Event Location: 6124 20th Street in Rio Linda
Event TIME Details: Begin Gathering at 5:00 PM, Ritual starts at 6:30
Directions: We are located at 6124 20th Street in Rio Linda, approximately 3 miles from the intersection of Watt Ave. and Elkhorn Blvd. Our mailbox is across the street from our house.
Take I-80 to the Marysville/Raley Blvd. exit. Go North to E Street. It's a stop sign. Turn right. Go to the next stop sign at 20th and turn left. Counting the corner house, we are the third house on the right. Drive up the driveway on the left side of the house (as you face it) and pull over to the side of the driveway and park.
There will also be parking in the other driveway, a few spaces inside the gate, along the front of the property, and along the street.
Walk through the gate at the end of the driveway, making sure to close it behind you. Walk out back to the barn. Please be very careful to not let our puppies, emus, chickens, peachicks, or turkey out. And do not attempt to pet the turkey through the fence. He bites.
Do not come to the front door of the house, as we do not use it.
Or you can enter from Greenback Lane/Elkhorn Blvd. Travel west on Greenback Lane over the freeway and past Watt Ave. where it turns into Elkhorn Blvd. Turn left at 20th Street. Pass several lettered streets. We are just past G St. on the left. Look for the barn behind the house, and come right in!
