Where: Concord, California

Celebrate Lunar Beltane

Event Details: How precious are these early days of the Spring season, blessing us with bursts of rain water and so many luscious flowers?! The morning air is filled with birdsong, the sounds of small woodpeckers learning their drumming craft, and squirrels running about finding their breakfast treats. The night sky clouds are illuminated by the bright Moon and fragranced with evening blossoms ~ tickling our senses and waking up the fire in our bellies. Let us match the energy of Mother Earth and step into our own heat at Her altar, shining under the Full Moon light in all of our glory!!

We gather at Her altar on Lunar Beltane, the climax of Spring fertility under the round belly of the Full Moon! Celebrated approximately half way between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice, this High Holy Day delights us with a feeling of timelessness. With Winter certainly behind us, we get lost in the light and the sensations of the growing season with Her flowers blooming, Her fruit growing and with life pulsing everywhere ~ bright, abundant, and rich with promise. As extensions of the Goddess and of the Earth, our own sensuality and sexuality are revitalized. We become the embodiment of the Charge of the Star Goddess verse, “All acts of love and pleasure are my rituals.” We take great joy and comfort in the fires that represent the bursting forth of life. We delight in abandon! We are womyn with beautiful breasts, bellies full of creative life force energy, and juicy, yearning, climaxing yonis. We are the embodiment of Beltane’s fire!

In English, Auge means “eye”. In Spanish, Her name means peak, height, or upturned. She invites us to note that our yonis resemble the eye in their shape. That we see from here ~ using our womyn’s intuition. She reminds us to embrace this sacred sight that is given to us in Her name and to honor and trust it! With our upturned eye, we can reach magnificent peaks and heights of physical pleasure; we can know true ecstasy. Auge encourages us to shake off that which no longer serves us as sensual, sexual beings. She says, “You are gorgeous! You are delicious! You are whole! Know this! Trust this! Delight in your body made in My image!”

For this ritual please wear fiery colors or clothing worthy of Auge ~ the heat, the fire, the fertility! Please bring a red or orange candle for the altar. Please bring symbols and objects that represent the South and Fire!

As part of our ongoing magickal intention to end sex trafficking, we ask that you bring a gift card to stores such as Target in any denomination that we will donate to Freedom House, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing wholeness into the lives of survivors of sex trafficking.

Daughters of the Goddess is a Dianic womyn-only Goddess Temple dedicated to honoring Multicultural Goddesses through rituals and celebrating ceremonies of Womyn's Mysteries in the Spirit of Aloha. We generally have two rituals a month and are always looking for new womyn who feel the call of the Goddess. For more information, ritual calendar and newsletter check out our website.
