Event Details: Death & Dying - Psychopomps & the Afterlife
As the nights lengthen and winter takes hold,
Renna Shesso will be teaching a 2-day workshop on shamanic
perspectives into death and dying. This is powerful material, with lots of
journeying, drumming, rattling, discussion, discovery,
focus, ceremonies and more. Gloomy? No way!
Symbolically, this inward-turning time of the year is a good time to explore this
material, and many people leave this workshop with an
enhanced appreciation for life itself.
Some of what we'll cover:
--Where we go after leaving this earth-life
--Ceremonies to honor the departed and support the grieving
--Contacting both the ancestors and the descendants --
those not yet born
--Psychopomp work: the ancient practice of assisting
stuck souls in Crossing Over
--Heightening our own spiritual understanding of death
and dying, whether this pertains to our personal inner
work, our concerns for ailing loved ones moving toward
this transition, or our work in the world in healing,
hospice or other professions.
Goals:
To work in shamanic journeying within a supportive and
safe group setting to build increased spiritual
connection and understanding, specifically about the
life’s-end transition that awaits us all.
Fee: Sliding scale $100 to $140. A deposit of $75 reserves your place.
[NOTE: This class is for folks who know the basics of shamanic journeying. PLEASE be comfortable with your journey-skills -- going, contacting your power animals and/or other spirit-plane helpers, attaining information and clearly returning -- before committing to this workshop.]
