Enjoy an evening of fun and help battered women
Event Details: Silver Branch Golden Horn’s Annual Clothing and Food FUNdraiser .
Clean out your closets and your cupboards and support Gateway Battered Women’s Shelter. This Holiday Season we invite you to bring help, hope, and unity to the community by attending our 1st Annual Charity Drive.
Experience an evening of fun, and excitement while helping Victims of Domestic Violence. In addition to the clothing and food drive we’ll be having an opening ritual, food, a raffle, chair massage, tarot, rune, and Scarab oracle readings (for donations) , and music. We will end the evening with a lively called auction with donations from:
Spirit Ways, Readings by Phebe, Herbs & Arts, Tony Fleming Massage, the Irish Snug, Gypsy House, Knotty Gal Creations, and more (see our e-groups for full auction details) .
Food will be provided by SBGH. Since our hosts, Gypsy House, is not charging us a rental fee we do ask that everyone who attends buy as least one of Gypsy House’s scrumptious beverages.

About Us: Silver Branch Golden Horn is the only ADF Protogrove in Colorado. We are a non-profit neo-druidic group, focusing on the Celtic and Norse Pantheons. It is our belief that the Wiccan and Pagan community should work together for the benefit of all, because we have more in common than that which separates us.
About the Charity: Gateway Battered Women’s Shelter has been helping the victims of domestic violence in the Denver Metro area for 30 years. They offer emergency and long term residence for victims of domestic violence and their children as well as: counseling, Domestic Violence Education, Court Advocacy Program, Assistance with legal issues, Children's services (such as counseling) , assistance to the G/L/B/T communities, and much more.
Domestic Violence Statistics:
• 1 out of every 4 American women report that a husband (or boyfriend) has, at some point in their lives, physically abused them.
• In Colorado, 46% of women who are murdered are killed by their intimate partner.
• According to the CBI, in 2008, there were 11, 636 reported cases of Domestic Violence in Colorado, including: 1, 854 Aggravated Assaults, 329 Forcible Sex Offenses, and 22 Homicides.
•Most victims of domestic violence leave the situation with nothing more then the clothes on their back.
Three pain free ways you can help:
1.Clean out your (and the kids’) closets for gently used clothes.
2.Raid your cupboards and grab some non-perishable food items.
3.Come to the Silver Branch Golden Horn’s 1st Annual Clothing and Food Drive, a fun fundraiser.
All of the evening’s proceeds (plus all of the clothing, food, etc) will go directly to Gateway Battered Women’s Shelter.
Donations needed by Gateway Battered Women’s Shelter:
Clothing
• Gently used women’s clothing for all sizes (casual clothes as well as dress clothes for court appearances and job interviews
• Gently used children clothes (for all ages, sizes and styles for new-born to teens)
• New undergarments (panties, socks, bras in every size)
Paper Products:
• Such as feminine hygiene products, diapers, baby wipes
Non-perishable Food
• Canned veggies, fruit, or meats
• Baby formula
• Pasta and Sauces, rice, or side dishes
• Cookies, crackers, or snack food
• Boxes of cereal or oatmeal
• Cans of soup or stock
Household Goods
• Books (for adults and kids)
• Gently used children’s’ toys
• New, unused Cleaning supplies
Christmas Gifts
