Shamanic Wave Dance a Transformative experience
Event Details: The Shamanic Wave Dance comes to Grand Junction! The Grand Junction grove of the Green Mountain Druid Order is sponsoring this monthly event. If you are 18 or older, join us every second Saturday here at Universal Connections~Mind~Body~Spirit for this transformational experience. We will dance for about 2 hours.. We are only asking for a donation to help cover the costs.
Dancing the wave is simple. All you have to do is remember that you are both a free, powerful spirit and a little, hurt child suffocating in pain and that you can be both of these extremes simultaneously. Accepting and loving both parts then makes you whole. The major role of the dance is to allow you to express both the pains and pleasures of this process, in front of others, thus losing the fear involved. The healing potential is created in the dance community through being in sacred space and revealing yourself, accepting and loving self and others, and to feel safe enough to do so. This is difficult, and yet so essential to health and wholeness.
Gabrielle Roth discovered that there are five rhythms and if they are danced in a certain order, the dancer will complete a cycle of transformation that is both healing and renewing. It initiates a type of shamanic death and rebirth, which purifies your physical and energy bodies while giving a huge amount of pleasure at the same time. The five rhythms are Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness.
DJ McLeod 57 will play music mixed in such a way as to increase in energy and power, inspiring and sweeping the dancers higher and higher into a powerful dance, from stillness to a climax at the peak of the Wave. Once the climax has been experienced, the music leads the dancers into a gentler and ever slowing rhythm, until stillness is regained. The style of dance is free form, so relax and allow your body to move as it wishes.
