Intentional Fire Circle ~ More then a drum and dance

Event Details: Autumn is here and the call to gather is growing stronger. We invite you to join us for an amazing night of inspiration, purification, transformation and manifestation.
Open Spirit Circle is an intentional indoor fire circle bringing together community. We are family friendly event open to all spiritual paths. We collectively and collaboratively find a harmony that lifts our spirits together; creating a sacred safe space to express ourselves through art, music, movement and silence. We are much more then just a drum and dance. Our events are designed so that everyone can contribute in many different ways. We come together with intention, for kinship, community and harmony.
ENTER The church from the BACK door What to BRING BRING a NON-breakable CUP or water bottle. We provide a 5 gallon water container for you to refill your bottles. Bring offerings for the food alter (finger foods only) Bring a chant, song, poem, drum, dance or other means to express yourself in harmony.
7:00 Orientation and Setting Intention This is when we invite you to help plan the opening ritual and discuss our intentions. We encourage everyone to take part in the discussions as it allows us all a deeper connection in the circle. We are seeking volunteers to help call in the directions and explain the aspects of the circle. If you volunteer to call in a direction, please commit to the circle to be there to dismiss the direction at the end of the event. Aspects to consider: East – Voice (seasonal intention sometimes added) South – Music (seasonal intention sometimes added) West – Movement (seasonal intention sometimes added) North – Service (seasonal intention sometimes added) More info in detail about these aspects can be found at: http://www.firetribehawaii.org/articles/orientation.shtml
7:30 Opening Ritual This is when we will do more than just drum and dance. Bring your songs, chants, poems and creative ideas. Bring your drums, rattles, signing bowls, and other fun instruments. Feel free to dress in costumes, belly dance clothes, and other fun ways of self-expression.
Other aspects that you will find in our circles are: ART Installation: We make prayer flags at almost all events. These are artistic expressions of the prayers are to represent our intentions, reflect our prayers for self, community, and or the world. Magic markers and fabric will be provided. Sometimes we will have other art projects to do and welcome your suggestions on what we can create together.
DIVINATION Installation: We have provided some tarot cards and other divination items. Please feel free to use them, or bring your own to share if you would like.
FOOD Installation: Finger food snacks help us to sustain the energy as the night progresses. We welcome contributions of fruit, nuts, chocolate, and other finger foods.
Healing zone: A few pillows and blankets are provided. This is a great place to meditate, rest and heal. Feel free to bring more fun fluffy stuff. Please keep any conversations to what is relevant within sacred space, and be mindful of others that may be meditating and or giving massages or other forms of healing. Also note that sound travels into the circle as well.
11:00 Close Circle We greatly appreciate your help with the closing and packing up after the circle. Many hands make light work and we really appreciate being able to leave before midnight.
DONATION Donations help us to keep the circle going and pay for the venue, and supplies. Suggested donation is $10.00. We will not turn anyone away for inability to pay. Work exchanges are available. Please contact Tanith or Beth if you would like to do a work exchange. We have a limited number of spots available and can really use the help getting set up.
We are not an official 503 charity, but we do not do this for a profit. All of the funds raised support this circle and the community. The core collaborators of OSC determine the use as a collective. Financial reports are available upon request.
We do accept donations on Paypal to OpenSpiritCircle@ gmail.com.
