The date set is going to be January 9-11th 2009 - cost per adult will be $25.00, kids 10-16 are $10.00 under 10 are free (they get top bunks or floor only) plus food. Contact Mystie (Mystic_C_Light@HotMail.com) for information. Last year we had about 30 adults and 15 kids...it was a blast!!

We've rented ALL the Cabins for our weekend. Each Cabin
is completely self contained with Parking, Water, Electricity,
Fire Pit, BBQ Grill and Picnic Table. Inside each Cabin is one HUGE room with 4 Bunk Beds, Screened Windows and a large Front Porch. Each cabin sleeps 8 people - we still have beds available in many of the cabins.

There is a Community area with a large covered Pavilion, several Picnic Tables, more BBQ Grills, Playground with Swings and Slide and a large Fire Pit complete with seating. The central Bath House has flush Toilets and private Showers.

We'll be doing our usual "Community Kitchen".
This is really the best way to eat well for an entire
weekend without going broke.

FRIDAY NIGHT - Grilled Cheese Sandwiches w/Tomato
Soup & Fruit for dessert. (that way even the late
arrivals can have a decent meal)
SATURDAY MORNING - Bisquits & Gravy, Scrambled
Eggs w/bacon, sausage
SATURDAY NOON - Sandwiches & Goodies
SATURDAY NIGHT - BBQ Smoked chicken & ribs or Pot
Roast w/Grilled Corn, potatoes & veggies & Brownies
SUNDAY MORNING - Potluck whatever's left over

COMMUNITY KITCHEN - Please donate one item,
per person, for each meal listed. (ex: 1 person = 4 items)

Breakfast: (choose one, per person)
1 dozen eggs, 1 pkg breakfast sausage or bacon,
1 dozen breakfast pastries or bread
1 bottle (real) juice, 1/2 gal milk.

Lunch: (choose one, per person) 1/2 lb lunch meat,
1/2 lb sliced cheese, 1 jar ready-made tomato soup,
2 bottles soda, 1 loaf bread or sandwich rolls,
fresh fruit, fuit salad, carrots & onions.

Dinner: (choose one, per person) 2 lb chicken or ribs,
1 dozen corn on the cob, 1 bag baking potatoes,
2 bottles soda or iced tea, brownie mix.

Optional Items: (choose one, per person) 1 lb coffee,
1 lb sugar, 1 lb real butter, 1 jar mayonnaise,
mustard or ketchup, peanut butter, or jelly
1 bag charcoal

Once you enter Jay B Starkey Wilderness Park the first
thing you notice is...silence...total, wonderful, relaxing
silence...no car noises, just hushed woodland sounds.
This is an 8, 300 acre wooded park just filled with birds,
animals and trees!! The Park has nearly 20 miles of
trails...for biking, walking, birding and horseback riding.

Event TIME Details: Check-in is after 5:00pm

Directions: Directions: From U S Hwy 19 in New Port Richey...turn East onto CR 54 (lights) for 2.7 miles, turn left onto Rowan Road/CR 77N (lights) for .6 miles, turn right onto Trouble Creek Road/CR 518E (lights) for 3.9 miles (becomes River Crossing Blvd) watch for Park signs, turn left onto Starkey Blvd and right onto Wilderness Road. From Largo it's about 30 miles north. Wilderness Road leads directly into the Park.
