GAEA presents...

11th Hour GAEA Beaches Cleanup

When: Every Sunday
Where: Jacksonville, Florida

11th Hour GAEA Beaches Cleanup

Event Details: 11th Hour GAEA Beaches Cleanup

The 11th Hour GAEA Beaches Cleanup is a proud member of the 11th Hour Action Movement created by Leonardo DiCaprio. The 11th Hour comes from Leonardo DiCaprio's environmental website at leonardodicaprio.org. It was designed as a community effort to get people to take sustainable action on the local, state and national level. It has been an honor for GAEA to be a part of this Environmental Mission since it's inception years ago. Please, if you care about creating a sustainable environment, then join us.

Come be a part of sending positive, healing energy to our Blessed Earth as we pickup garbage off the Beaches. We believe the Earth is the body of the Goddess, therefore sacred to us. As such, we want to do our part as an example for others to emulate by demonstrating our love for Mother Earth. By participating you can show your love, honor and respect for Mother Earth and her Creations.

The first year of life for baby Seagulls is the most volatile, because they are completely dependent upon their parents for food. Due to the pollution on the shores, the parents are unknowingly bringing pollution to their young as food. The parents are unaware that the food they are feeding their young is plastic that their digestive systems are unable to process. They have found lighters, plastic carriers from six-packs, baby pacifiers and other plastic items in their stomachs. The autopsies of the dead young reveals they died due to huge amounts of plastic in their stomachs. A direct correlation has been discovered between the decline of Seagulls and the increase of human pollution on our shores. This problem has not only been identified in Seagulls, but all wildlife that depends upon the shores for survival. We would like to help with this problem by picking up garbage off our shores.

Children: Children welcomed with parental supervision.

Requirements: Make certain to wear weather appropriate clothing, bring refreshments/gloves/insect repellent and recyclable biodegradable bags. Good hygiene must be practiced by all attendees to ensure you are not offensive to other participants. This means taking a bath or shower, brushing your teeth and using deodorant.

Cost: Free.

RSVPing: If you would like to attend, then please join GAEA at http://www.ambrea.org/grove to learn how.
