Cuups/Unitarian Universalist Church/WaterHawks [Witchvox Sponsor] announces...

Sacred Drum Circle

When: Every 4th Saturday
Where: Ft. Myers, Florida

The Unitarian Universalist Church Sacred Drum Circle.

Event Details: Hello drummers, dancers and community!
The Unitarian Universalist Church Sacred Drum Circle. This is a eclectic, non-traditional Sacred drum circle. We will agree upon an intention of prayer at the start of the event. Please come by 6:30 PM for a short orientation before drumming. Facilated by Don Waterhawk, co-author of Sacred Beat and his wife Daniella.
Being indoors, we ask that all large or loud drums be sheathed or played softly. If you are looking for a drum circle to expound your ego by showing everyone how fast and loud you can drum, this is not for you. This will be the second circle we have had here, with a monthy reacurrance every fourth Saturday Night. During the winter months drumming will be outdoors on the grounds of the church by the lake with a wonderful fire pit. The grounds are incredibly beautiful.
The first circle in July was a rousing success for all. With wonderful feedback from the participants. We had approxiamately 40- 50 people attend the July event, August was around 70-80 people.. With the most common comment of people saying "they have been looking for a drum circle like this for a long time." The event does not offer workshops in beats or rthyms, as you being part of the drum community, you will become your best teacher.
Children are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult and under supervision. There will be some drums and other musical instruments that may be available for those who have none.
Although this is a free event we do ask people to think about respect and honor to the Unitarian Universalist church for offering such a wonderful place that has air conditioning and seating. A donation is greatly appreciated directly to the church. Any further info needed you can call the church at 239-561-2700 and talk to Milissa Bell the Congregational Administrator Unitarian Universalist Church of Ft. Myers who is also a drummer and an eceptional dancer, or email from Witchvox an email to Don and Daniella from there.
