Open Class in Wicca
When: Every Monday, 9/24/2012
Where: Gainesville, Florida
Ongoing class based on Odyssean Wicca, all experience levels welcome.
Event Details: Class is on-going and cumulative, will include lecture, discussion, practice, homework and, eventually, performance of ritual for the wider community.
Topics will include:
*Pagan/Magical ethics, grounding and energy self-management
*Finding and nurturing a relationship with your patron deities and/or local land-spirits
*Creating sacred space, tending shrines and altars in your environment
*Music/movement in ritual
*Meditation and visualization
*Various forms of divination including tarot, runes, scrying, etc.
*Making magical stuff: robes, tools, candles, incense and oil blends
*Comparative mythology, various cultures and pantheons
*Pagan cosmology, the cycle of the seasons, moonlore
*energy play
*4 elements in ritual and daily practice
*ritual construction and practice
This class is open and suitable for anyone who wishes to learn more about Wicca and related traditions. One of the goals is to help participants to develop a satisfying and sustainable personal practice. Another is to form a core group who will write and perform seasonal rituals to share with the greater community.
Instructor has about 30 years' experience studying and practicing pagan traditions, including ADF druidry and Odyssean Wicca. While I am teaching from my own training and experience, my goal is to help you to find a practice which will work for you. I do not discriminate on the basis of age, gender, gender identity or sexual preference, or any other characteristic except willful ignorance.

Event TIME Details: 7-9 PM
Directions: Call for location and further information. Class is cumulative, so people beginning after the first week in October will want to meet with instructor first.
