Winter Solstice and Blessed Yule for 2013

Gathering at 7:30 p.m.
Ritual at 8 p.m. by Rowan Rain

There's never a fee to attend our circle at the Sublime Elm!

In the planning & More TBA

Yule marks the winter solstice, the shortest day when the Earth is at its greatest distance from the sun on the celestial equator. The Winter Solstice is also the longest night, when the sun is at its lowest point along the horizon. Yule is also when we celebrate the return of the Sun King. The Earth is cold and soon we will pass from frozen Winter's nights into Spring's first awakenings. The Ancients celebrated light at this annual festival, lighting candles, and reveling in the few plants that thrived in this weather—holly, evergreens and mistletoe. Mistletoe was especially revered as a symbol of fertility - although the berries are quite poisonous! This is a joyful celebration filled with laughter, song and the lighting a Yule log. We welcome you to help us usher in this wondrous time of year. If you have been to our Circle before, you are welcome to bring a friend. We must ask you to please RSVP as space is limited.

If you want to be included in a “white elephant” gift exchange….

Bring one gift of value no more than $10.00.

Our Feast is Potluck!!!

So, if you partake in the feast…..

Please bring something to share or a $$$ donation.

Your food item should be able to feed at least eight people.

We encourage you to bring hand instruments drums, flutes, tambourines, claves, maracas, bells, noise makers, and such.

Please remember to always enter our Circle with an open mind and an open heart.
