Event Details: The Eternal Breath Circle, the Lafayette affiliate of the Covenant of the Pentacle Wiccan Church of New Orleans, is currently accepting new students for our Wicca 101 class, a comprehensive year-and-a-day study program combining academic materials with Wiccan activities designed to help the Seeker/Dedicant student candidate become a fully functioning practitioner of Wicca. Classes will meet approximately every two weeks. Students who complete this course will have the option to initiate as either a Solitary on the path of Wicca or as a First Degree Priest/ess in the CPWC. Please contact us for more information about dates and times.
Although our teachers do not get paid for conducting these classes, there are fees associated with this course which help CPWC, a 501c3 charitable organization, fund its charitable works in the community. However, students will not be turned away based on inability to pay. CPWC is a teaching organization, and strives to work with seekers of all economic levels.
All students will be required to fill out an application and submit to a background check and payment of a non-refundable $25 processing fee. Our high standards include a background check because we do not allow infiltration by felons/con artists to betray the trust of our students with allegations/history etc. that cannot be validated with fact, and to ensure that the safety and well-being of our students and membership is never jeopardized.
We will not dazzle you with unsubstantiated claims or flashy titles, though we do possess titles to show our level of training or function within CPWC. Also, even though amongst ourselves as one friend to another we may use nicknames, we require student registration under true legal names, and likewise introduce ourselves to students with our true legal names. The work we do with law enforcement, prisons, and community, such as hospice, university and social work, requires us to use our mundane/legal names; and it makes sense to know whom one is associating with and trusting. However, we will not "OUT" our students and circle members who desire to remain discreet for personal reasons.
We ALL work for a better community, and do a lot of charity based activities. All donations made in the name of our organization are tax exempt. We offer a folio of proof of our years of service and our good standing nationally and globally. We visit our affiliated circles and our friends from other communities often, and we are a close-knit and diverse group.
