New Orleans Lamplight Circle announces...

Lamplight Circle's 4th Annual Samhain BOO! Banquet

When: Oct. 31st. 2012
Where: New Orleans, Louisiana

Come fiesta with us as this Dia de los Muertos-themed party!

Event Details: It has arrived, folks... Lamplight Circle's 4th Annual BOO! Banquet is here, and we are going to party in-style.

This ancient and often misunderstood festival marks the end of the year (in Wicca) and a long-acknowledged demarcation between harvest time and and the darkest part of the year. It is at this time that we all feel the end of the cycle of energy on Earth... the crops are reaped and left to wither, the warm winds travel to another destination (leaving us the cold) , and the sunlight wanes. It is a time to take stock of the fruits of our year's endeavors, to confront mortality and acknowledge life's incarnations, and to welcome the Winter! Our ritual (with newcomer Anthony as HP and Ty as HPS) will incorporate all these things and more.

What's more, after the ritual, we will continue the holiday with an incredible feast! Our party theme is Dia de los Muertos (for those who don't speak Spanish, that is the Mexican Day of the Dead) ... a holiday that honors ancestors and welcomes their return to their home on Earth (just for the night, of course) . Our party will be festive and colorful, and you can help it be a success! Remember to :

A. Wear an awesome costume!

B. RSVP online (and include an accurate count for your guests)

C. Bring a delicious potluck dish (that is Mexican or Latin, to fit our theme... we welcome creativity) .

D. Bring a picture of any loved ones that have departed this life (for our ancestral altar) , plus any offerings you'd like to put on our ritual altar (which can include mums or marigolds, pomegranates or apples, sheafs of wheat or corn, gourds, etc.) .

We will be offering complementary divination from 5:30 - 6:30 PM, then ritual will begin at 6:30 Pm, and go to 7:30 PM. After which, we will begin the banquet (which will go for as long as we have guests) . Drinks (alcoholic and non) , dessert, and plates/cups/utensils will be provided. We will have a donation bucket for those who would like to contribute to help cover the costs of the party... it is not a requirement to come, but is always appreciated!
