New Orleans Lamplight Circle and Catholic Charitie announces...

Gutting and Mucking in Braithwaite

When: Dec. 1st. 2012
Where: New Orleans, Louisiana

Please help Hurricane Isaac victims this December!

Event Details: After experiencing Hurricane Isaac for ourselves, and seeing the devastation that people on the east coast suffered at the winds of Sandy, we have an opportunity to help those whose lives have been ripped apart by Isaac. People in low-income communities, those with disabilities, small children, and veterans need our help to collect their belongings and gut their property in Braithwaite.

Catholic Charities of New Orleans is putting together volunteer teams to help the residents of Braithwaite on Saturday, Dec. 1st from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. We will meet at the Catholic Charities office and caravan to Braithwaite (50 min. away) . We must provide our own transportation, so we need plenty of people with cars to RSVP. CCANO is looking for a group of 30 people to go out and help.

Please wear long pants and close-toe shoes, pack your own lunch, and bring some cash for the drivers to cover gas. Work gloves, respirators, and goggles will be provided. Those with mold/mildew sensitivities are asked to refrain from coming.

This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to our community. I remember what Katrina was like, and I would do anything I could to help people in that circumstance.

Event Location: 1000 Howard Ave. in New Orleans
Event TIME Details: We meet at 7:30 AM; day ends at 4:30 PM

Directions: We meet at Catholic Charities of New Orleans downtown, and then caravan to Braithwaite (50 min. drive) .
