Mabon - Autumn Equinox Open Ritual

When: Sep. 21st. 2019
Where: Cambridge, Massachusetts

Mabon - Autumn Equinox Open Ritual

Event Details: Join us on Saturday September 21, 2019 at 7:00 pm for the First Day of Autumn and the Feast Day of Mabon Ritual & Potluck!

First Church in Cambridge at 11 Garden Street, Cambridge, MA. We will be in the McKenzie Library (use Garden Street entrance and follow signs)

Join us for the ritual celebration of the autumnal equinox and the second harvest. In the spirit of the season, this public ritual will focus on balance, transformation and gratitude. We will honor Demeter the Great Mother Goddess of the Harvest and her Daughter Persephone as she descends into the Underworld for the dark half of the year.

All participants, PLEASE BRING ONE (or more!) NONPERISHABLE FOOD ITEM to be donated to a local food pantry. These will be used as part of the ritual.

Introductions will begin promptly at 7:00 pm, with ritual immediately to follow. Please be mindful that once the doors to the McKenzie Library are shut, out of respect for the sacred space, we will not be able to allow late comers to enter.

It’s a high feast day! Please bring a Pitch-in POTLUCK DISH to share. As a helpful potluck guideline, if your last name begins with A - K: please bring a protein/meat/savory dish; L - P: please bring a vegetable/fruit dish; Q-S please bring a dessert or snack ; T-Z please bring a drink item to share.

This ritual is being offered for fee of $15.00 per person, this helps us continue to offer community events by offsetting the cost of space rental and supplies. Please utilize the meetup payment function below or contact your organizers if you plan to pay cash at the event - either way we would love to know you're coming so we can have enough supplies on hand.

All of our rituals, events and classes are open to the public, no prior attendance at any Cornucopia event is needed. Cornucopia is a pluralistic community, we value all! Any tradition or level of learning/experience is welcomed! Newcomers are always welcome!

If it's your first time at one of our rituals and you don't know what to expect, this link is for you:
