Society of Elder Faiths [Witchvox Sponsor] announces...

Beltain Celebration for All Ages!

When: May. 5th. 2013
Where: Hopkinton, Massachusetts

Help us Welcome in the Summer and the May!

Event Details: Maypole! Dancing! Singing!
Frolicking! Cavorting!
Art s & Crafts Fun for kids and families!

NeedFire Ritual – This year, the NeedFire will be done first,
as a purification rite before the Maypole Dance.

The NeedFire Ritual is based on traditions of kindling all fires anew at Beltain. In pagan Britain, around the equinox, designated people would scour the woods to gather branches of the nine sacred woods, that they might dry in time for Beltain. So, if you wish to participate in the Need Fire, NOW is the time for each person to obtain a branch of wood that is meaningful to you, to be added to the Fire. The branch should be no longer than one and half feet and no thicker than one and a half inches. Place it in a warm, dry place to dry. Do it ASAP. You don't want to be the person whose wood sits forlornly unburnt in the fire pit. One branch per person. Old wands are acceptable sacrifice!

Bring your own picnic food -- the camp provides grills, picnic pavilions, toilets, playground area for children, and walking trails. Please note: Alcohol is not permitted at the YMCA
