The Winter Solstice in Legend and Song

Ancient Myth Music and Song Rekindle the Sun's Light
Event Details: This one hour story and music event features some of Diane’s most popular Solstice legends and songs, from the Legend of the Mistletoe to Wassail traditions and lovely harp and synthesizer instrumentals. Master storyteller Diane Edgecomb accompanied by Celtic harper Margot Chamberlain and multi-instrumentalist Tom Megan offers a fascinating look at the stories behind our holiday traditions. Songs evocative of the season and lovely instrumental melodies round out the event. After a fifteen minute intermission, audience members are invited to attend the church’s annual Longest Night service.

By Car:
From the North
1. Follow Route 27 South through Acton Center and the intersection with Route 111 to the next traffic light in South Acton.
2. At the light, turn Left onto School Street.
3. South Acton Congregational Church is located on the Right just before River Street branches right.
From the South
1. Follow Route 27 North through Maynard to the first traffic light in South Acton.
2. At the light, turn Right onto School Street.
3. South Acton Congregational Church is located on the Right just before River Street branches right.
From the East
1. Take Route 2 West beyond the rotary in West Concord to Acton.
2. Immediately following the next traffic light, take the Left exit onto Route 111 West.
3. At the next traffic light, turn Left onto Route 27 South going towards Maynard.
4. At the next traffic light, turn left onto School Street in South Acton.
5. South Acton Congregational Church is located on the Right just before River Street branches right.
From the West
1. Take Route 2 East to Exit 42 in Acton.
2. At the end of the exit ramp, turn Right onto Route 27 South going towards Maynard.
3. At the second traffic light, turn left onto School Street in South Acton.
4. South Acton Congregational Church is located on the Right just before River Street branches right.
