Sacred Fire Circle Solstice Vigil

All Night Event - This is not a class
Adults only. Serious practitioners, energy workers only. By submitting your registration, you are confirming a commitment to stay all night and do "the work". If you are not known to the staff of the Eye, you must provide personal reference (s) in the order comments for someone who can vouch for you.
Sacred fire circles are purposeful nights spent working through a personal alchemical process of burning off one’s dross to reveal the gold. It is a deliberate, intense and intent-full night of dancing, drumming, rattling, chanting, meditating, healing, and holding space in ritual mindset.
The Mayan calendar ends December 21, and this is seen as a time when great transformation will take place, thus making it the perfect night for a ritual dedicated to powerful transformation. The winter solstice is also a traditional night for a vigil to see the flame through the longest night to ensure that it is there to give back at sunrise to ensure the continuation of the flame, making it the perfect night for an evening with a flame as its focus. The Eye of Horus has a permanent sacred circle cast in their temple room, with a floor which is comfortable to walk barefoot. The combination of these makes this the perfect night and the perfect place for an indoor sacred fire circle.
Sunset December 21, 2012 is at 4:35pm. A candle will be lit from the last flame of the sun as it sets between 3:30 & 4:35pm in a ritual high priestessed by Thraicie Hawkner which sacred fire circle participants are welcome to attend. This flame will light the flame of our sacred fire. At midnight, we will enter the sacred space and spend the evening focused on working the energies of the circle. Sunrise December 22, 2012 is at 7:49am. We will have seen the fire through the darkest night and offer the fire of our circle over to the new sun on the horizon. May our work of transformation be carried over to the positive transformation of all that is touched by the rays of that sun.
This event costs $20.12 per person, and pre-registration is required.
This event is not child friendly. It requires people to be actively engaged in ritual mind-set for 8 hours in a contained space. There is not enough room to have space for children to sleep. Also, if adults are taking care of the needs of children, they are engaged with the children, rather than being fully engaged with the circle. Therefore this is an event for adults only.

Directions: Eye of Horus Metaphysical is on the West side of Lyndale Avenue South in Minneapolis between the Smitten Kitten and Defiant Tattoo. There is a big sign which says Metaphysical across the top of the building, and the Eye of Horus Logo sign above our entrance, which faces at an angle toward the South East.
From the North: Take 35W South, take 35th Street exit West until you reach Lyndale, go North on Lyndale and cross 31st, we are on the left.
From the South: Take 35W North to Lake Street exit, head West to Lyndale, go South (left) approx 1/2 blocks. Look for the METAPHYSICAL sign on the right.
From the East: Take I-94 West into Minneapolis, take the Lyndale/Hennepin Exit, go South on Lyndale, cross Lake Street, Look for the METAPHYSICAL sign on the right.
From the West: Take 394 East toward Minneapolis. Dunwoody Blvd exit, EXIT 8A, toward Hennepin Ave. Turn right onto S Lyndale Ave/Hennepin Ave S. Continue to follow S Lyndale Ave.
Bus: The 4 runs up and down Lyndale, and numerous buses run up and down Lake St.
