Jaime Meyer / Eye of Horus Metaphysical [Witchvox Sponsor] announces...

Intro to Celtic Shamanic Tradition

When: Nov. 16th. 2012 - Nov. 17th. 2012
Where: Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Medicine Wheel, Sovereignty, Prayer, Healing, the Otherworld

Event Details: In the Celtic shamanic tradition, sovereignty is “the power to make my own decisions” (as distinct from having others tell you how you “should” or “must” live) . We work our way shamanically around the Celtic Medicine Wheel (the five directions) learning the powers of each direction, building relationship with them and taking their powers into our core to help us in our everyday life. This is powerful, beautiful work that teaches you how to center yourself, teaches you a system of prayer that can be tremendous help in painful and fearful times, and teaches you how to see and ask for specific helping, healing powers from nature.

Bring a blanket, yoga mat or something to sit on. Chairs are also available if needed. Bring a drum or rattle. Some will be available to borrow as well. Pre-registration Required. Call the store at 612-872-1292 or use the link below.

Meet the Instructor

Jaime Meyer’s eclectic background includes earning a Masters' degree in theology and the arts from United Seminary of the Twin Cities and studies with a variety of shamanic teachers. His book Drumming The Soul Awake is an often funny and touching account of his journey to become what some call an urban shaman. Since 2001 he has led popular group drumming events around the Twin Cities including five years of sold-out Winter Solstice ceremonies. Since 1984 Meyer has studied cross-cultural shamanism, mysticism and the spiritual uses of drumming from many cultures. Among others, he has studied with Ailo Gaup, Martin Prechtel and Sandra Ingerman. He has also completed a two-year Celtic shamanism training with Tom Cowan.

"I hope what I do honors ancient and cross-cultural healing traditions, provides nourishment to the unseen forces which permeate our lives, contains a plumb line to perennial wisdom, is aesthetically beautiful and well-done, and most of all, is useful in people’s immediate, modern lives."
