Ozark Avalon [Witchvox Sponsor] presents...

Full Moon and Year and A Day Classes

When: Full moon weekend
Where: Boonville, Missouri

Work Weekend , Full Moon and Classes

Event Details: Year and a Day class 2007-2008

We are a land based Wiccan church and these gatherings are open to persons of all ages and levels of Wiccan practice or just curious. We ask for a $25 donation or 5 hours of work for the class but other activites are free although donations of money or food are always welcome. We maintain 160 acres of land and facilities for year round worship, enjoyment and spiritual retreat for all earth honoring persons.

The Ozark Avalon Year and a Day Class is a face-to-face intensive-study class with emphasis on activities and discussion of previously read material. With very few exceptions, the class meets on Sundays, 11 am to 3pm, but attendance in Full Moon Circles on the Saturday before is strongly encouraged. The class is facilitated by the clergy and clergy students of Ozark Avalon. Year and A day students get hands on experience in the Full Moon Circles.
Most of the classes will take place at Ozark Avalon’s 160 acre nature preserve. Some activities are either optional or can be completed in a setting closer to your home. We encourage students to be actively involved in ritual, retreats and events both here at Ozark Avalon and through other Pagan organizations.

The class will cover the basics of both Wicca and Magick, as well an introduction to the modern Pagan community through service projects. This course of study is geared towards motivated, self-directed students. Our path is not dogmatic: free thinking is encouraged. Students who have attended a partial Year and a Day Class are welcomed back with open arms. Completion requirements include four book reports and attendance of at least 8 regular sessions or alternates. For many, completion of the class in a year’s time frame is not possible due to other life events and they may choose to graduate at a later Samhain.

Most students choose to work on Saturday, participant in ritual, spend the night, and attend class on Sunday. This work energy goes to support the land and on-going projects of Ozark Avalon. Class teachers volunteer their time. We prepare communal meals during our class weekends and camping or housing in the Retreat Center is included.

The class is not a requirement for OakSpirits status but is required of persons wishing to teach or serve as clergy. Completion of the class does not automatically admit you to the clergy program. In addition to the Full and New Moon classes there will be several intensives on specific topics such as tarot, runes etc that can be used with prior permission to complete the attendance requirements. All students are required to obey the Natural Laws of Ozark Avalon.
