Open Community Moon Circles
Event Details: OPEN WICCAN CIRCLES
Ozark Avalon is a community, magickal land and nature preserve. We provide access to nature and a safe place for outdoor worship. We promote community among persons with compatible beliefs. We seek to further environmentalism and appreciation for nature spirits. We are located on 160 acres on the bluffs above the Missouri River. We have rugged woods and beautiful meadows blessed by Gaia, Cernunnos, fae folk and the spirits of the ancestors. We are home to many species of wildlife as well as a small community of caretakers, priests and priestesses.
Once a month and usually the Saturday nearest the Full Moon or another convenient Saturday join us a Ozark Avalon for an open community circle. These events are family friendly and are a good place to learn about Wicca, meet new friends and enjoy spiritual fellowship under the stars. These circles are conducted out of doors so dress appropriately for comfort. Garb or street clothes welcome and feel free to bring a drum for after ritual drumming circles. There is a potluck feast before hand usually around 6 pm with ritual starting between 8 pm and 9 pm depending on moonrise. Ozark Avalon is a church community that is open to all persons of good intent. You do not have to join or be Wiccan to participate; this is a place to explore your spirituality in the company of fellow seekers.
Take I-70 west from Columbia about 10 miles to exit 111 which is Highway179 south. Go south or left from exit about 1.2 miles to the junction of Route V (right) Cumberland Church Road (left) you will pass the fire station and see the water tower. Do not pass the water tower. Turn left onto the gravel road Cumberland Church Road and go 1.5 miles to hard right turn with a big white house on the left. Stay on Cumberland Church Road and go 1/2 mile to first and only right hand turn. There is a large Ozark Avalon sign here. Go straight up main drive to the large white house. Please park without blocking yard or driveway.
