What Is Hermeticism? with Bill
When: Mar. 27th. 2013
Where: St. Louis, Missouri
Introductory Class on Historical & Contemporary Hermeticism
Event Details: What is Hermeticism? w/ Bill
Hermeticism is a long standing western world spiritual system that is also known as ‘The Royal Art.’ It has been used by advisors to rulers for centuries, and can trace its roots back to ancient Egypt. While modern Hermeticism encompasses more than it has in the past, there are strong roots in certain areas of metaphysics and magick that give us insight into not only our past as a spiritual species, but also into ourselves. Hermeticism can also provide structure to work within without being too restrictive, which can be of strong value when one is coalescing their spiritual paradigm. In this introductory class the arts of Hermeticism will be addressed, both historical and contemporarily, and a clear understanding of what is and what isn’t Hermeticism will also be addressed. There is no prerequisite for this class. Offered Wednesday 3-27, 7 – 9 pm and has an investment of $25.
Rev Bill Duvendack is an ordained spiritualist minister who has a varied background of experience over two decades, which he brings to the Pathways family. He is a nationally known professional astrologer who is a member of the Astrological Association of St Louis where he frequently lectures, occasionally writes articles for the bulletin, and holds a board position. He is also a member of the professional astrological association NCGR (National Council for Geocosmic Research) . He is currently writing the horoscope column seen on Pathways website (www.pathwaysstl.com) and teaching monthly astrology classes at Pathways. He is also available for astrological chart interpretations and divination readings using a system called “Astro-Dice” which he reads at the monthly in-store psychic fair held at Pathways. He has also made public appearances in the community in a variety of places. This list includes, but is not limited to, local television stations, radio stations, interviews with local papers, high schools, and the local pagan picnic.
In addition to his astrological work, Rev Bill is the current president for Circle of Light Church. Rev Bill is also a member of the Fellowship of Isis, BOTA (Builders of the Adytum) , co-founder of the Sanctum Sub Rosa Magickal Lodge, founder of the now-defunct ‘Coven of Luna’s Veiled Wisdom’ and an initiate in the Golden Dawn.
He is active in many different spiritual traditions, ranging from Sanskrit mantras to Native American Shamanism, and many other nature based spiritual paths.
