Sacred Circle of Wiccan Fellowship presents...

Year and One Day Lesson Course

When: Ongoing
Where: Charlotte Area, North Carolina

Mentor Assisted Home Study Course

Event Details: Year and One Day Introduction,

The SCWF Year and One Day lesson course is a comprehensive course on Wicca and Witchcraft. You will not have to buy any books while you are participating in this course. Also, though the SCWF is a Celtic Wiccan Circle, we are committed to teach an Eclectic Curriculum to those who wish to learn the Craft and worship the Goddess and God as Wiccans, Witches or Pagans.

If you choose to participate in this course you will need to fill out a Seekers Application before moving forward. Your application is reviewed by a couple of potential mentors or sponsor, if accepted by a mentor or sponsor you would be required to fill out a second packet addressing your participation in the course studies, this includes student rights as well as mentor rights.

If accepted you would receive lesson one “foundations”, this lesson goes into more detail about the course and some definitions to help you out while taking the course which is set to last 4 weeks, though many mentors as well as sponsors meet with students once a month. After lesson one you would receive lesson two “Dedication and Initiation”, this lesson talks about the differences in dedication and/or initiation and includes dictionary definitions for help. All participants are dedicated into the SCWF as a Dedicant and remain in this status until the end of the year and one day or initiation becomes available.

Regular attendance in the Year and One Day Program is expected of all Neophytes, Acolytes and Postulants. This requirement is in place because the SCWF is an active Wiccan Circle and we believe in community and fellowship.

Once a person reaches lesson two they are required to pay for their over robe $20.00, silver pentagram and chain $20.00 (if needed) , and an altar cloth $10.00 (if needed) . The SCWF is no longer funding the program directly so there is a $5.00 fee each month for any copies and/or other material used in instructing as well as materials used during hands on training in this program. The “if needed” comments are set in place because some people already have a pentagram and chain, we feel it unnecessary to acquire another unless the pentagram and chain you own is not silver. As per the altar cloth if you already own one that’s nice and has designs on it then we again you would not need to acquire another unless it is not appropriate to enter ritual with.

As a Dedicant, if you cannot commit to at least fifteen (15) minutes to thirty (30) minutes each day of worship/study and at least one Pod meeting monthly, then possibly the SCWF Year and One Day Lesson Course is not the path for you at this time.

Dedicants in the SCWF come in three levels;

Neophyte – has no experience in the Craft nor in Wicca. They are permitted to attend all observances (training rituals) without restrictions, as well as workshops. There’s more but we can talk about it later.

Acolyte – has less than three years study and/or experience in the Craft or Wicca, or has progressed from a neophyte to acolyte in the SCWF because of acquired skills and knowledge. They are permitted to attend all observances (training rituals) without restriction as well as workshops and can attend Circle Gatherings by invitation. An acolyte is also a person seeking deeper knowledge and experience above and beyond the Year and one day. There’s more but we can talk about it later.

Postulant – has at least three years of study and/or experience in the Craft and/or Wicca and desires to be initiated into the SCWF when it’s available to them. They have no real restrictions and may attend Observances, Gatherings and Workshops. There’s more but we can talk about it later.

I hope this has helped a little on what to expect versus the SCWF, our year and one day course and the dedicant program.
