Event Details: Loxley Abbey Calendar for 2008
Loxley Abbey Villagers love to celebrate & as well as honour the Divine. As the Wheel of the Year turns; we will mark our holy days & gatherings with Medieval Spiritual Services & celebrations. Each is a tyme for gathering together with friends & family, working on our spiritual development, feasting & merrymaking!
The following is not a complete list of dates for 2008; there are Spiritual Services, classes & workshops & gatherings still to be added. But for now please mark these dates on your home/work calendars so you can plan accordingly.
Loxley Abbey is entering its 2nd year located in Raleigh, NC & we have been blessed with many folks who have joined us as bonded family villagers.
Loxley Abbey has a motto for this year & we pray that you will find it in your heart & worth your effort to give it a whole hearted try.

January- 26 Sat: Tree Wassailing Celebration at 4PM
(NEW) Feb. 10 Sun: 1st Medieval Spiritual Service 3pm
February- 23 Sat: Plough Day (Blessing of the Plough)

March- 22 Sat: Haxey Hood Day Seed & Furrow Day
(NEW) April 6 Sun: Medieval Spiritual Service 3pm
April- 19 Sat: Seed & Furrow Day 2pm
May- 10 Sat: May Fire Festival (Medieval May Day Celebration) begins at noon & goes till midnyte.
June- 19 Thur: Mid-Summers Eve Bonfire Gathering
June 20 Fri: Summer Solstice
June 21 Sat: St. John’s Day & Solstice Celebration
*July- 19 Sat: Medieval Well Dressing Celebration
August- 2 Sat: Lammastide & St. Catherine’s Feast Day Celebration
*August- 23 Sat: Lady Godiva & Epona Day Celebration
September- 27 Sat: Harvest Home & St. Michaelmas Celebration
*October- 25 Sat: Ancestors Remembered
November- 15 Sat: Blot Tyme & St. Martin Celebration
December- 20 Sat: Mid-Winter’s Eve & Yuletide Celebration-
December-21 Sun: Winter Solstice

From Wake Forest/North Raleigh (NORTH)
• Take US-1 south to I-540 East (to Louisburg)
• Take I-540 East to Buffaloe Rd (3rd exit after Capital Blvd, exit 20)
• Follow “The Rest of the Directions” below
From Cary/Garner/Clayton (SOUTH)
• Take I-440 Outer to NC-64 East (to Knightdale)
• Take NC-64 East to I-540 (2nd exit)
• Take I-540 (going north) to Buffaloe Rd (2nd exit, #20)
• Follow “The Rest of the Directions” below
From Louisburg (NORTH EAST)
• Take NC-401 toward Raleigh to I-540
• Take I-540 East (going south) to Buffaloe Rd (NEXT exit, #20)
• Follow “The Rest of the Directions” below
From Durham (NORTH WEST)
• Take I-540 East all the way around Raleigh, past Capital Blvd to Buffaloe Rd (3rd exit after Capital Blvd, exit 20)

• Turn onto Buffaloe Rd AWAY from the city.
• Turn Right at the first light onto Forestville Road
• Turn Right at the first light onto Old Milburnie Road
• Loxley Abbey is a few driveways down on the Right hand side (#2401) – Just look for the big sign! (NOTE: If you’ve gotten to Wil-Mar Golf Course on the left, you’ve gone too far.)
