Irish language class for beginners

Event Details: A’ bhfuil Gaeilge agat?
(Got Irish?)

Have you ever wished you knew what Enya, the Celtic Women, Clannad, Altán, Anúna (those singers in Riverdance) , or other Gaelic singers were actually singing about? Would you like to learn the language so you can figure it out?

Did you go to school in Ireland and used to know a few songs or phrases in the language, but can’t remember or make them out now? Would you like a refresher?

Awakening Spirit
12 Central Square, Chelmsford, MA

$15/class
Thurday nights, 7pm – 8pm
Beginning Thursday, June 14th

A new Irish language class for beginners is starting in Chelmsford, MA on Thursday, June 14th, and will continue through the summer on Thursday nights. All classes will run 7pm – 8pm, and cost $15. For the first two weeks, no books are required, but you may wish to bring a notebook and pen.

This class is great for people who don’t speak or read any Irish at all, or for those who have a little but have not kept it up. Those who can already converse in Irish are probably beyond this class, but please leave messages at the shop for Caera if you are interested in starting a conversation group, even informally.

It may be possible to join this class after the first two weeks, but please contact the teacher about it.

Caera is a singer, harper, teacher, and writer, who is very passionate about the music, languages, spirituality, and history of her Gaelic ancestors. She plays a clairseach, a brass-strung harp modeled after medieval harps from Ireland, and sings in all three Gaelic languages (Irish, Scottish, and Manx) as well as other languages. She currently has 5 albums available, all of which have at least a few songs in the Irish language on them.
