YULE Ritual and Revels

THE STAG DANCE RETURNS!

The horn will blow
The piper calls
The Stags will dance
As darkness falls
Yule has always been a special time at the Concord UU, and this year will be no exception. This year we will see the return of the much beloved Stag Dance.
These Spirits of the winter and the longest night will guide us with their ethereal dance. We will celebrate the shortest day, the longest night, and the return of the glory of the Sun.
This is a VERY INCLUSIVE ritual and celebration. Together we will call upon the Spirits of Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. Together, we will sing back the Sun. Together we will dance in the light. We will sing old songs, and new, to celebrate the Goddess and the God and the blessings of nature.
Dancing through the aisles; drums to shake the rafters; songs to stir the heart; and chants to fire the spirit. Yule is NOT to be missed!
But don’t be shy.
We’ll teach all you need to know.
If you “can’t sing” 150 or so people will help you carry the tune!
If you can't dance, just HOLD ON!
BE WILD AND FREE ON SOLSTICE NIGHT
Stay and chat after the ritual if you can (and catch your breath) . You are invited to bring a snack or drink to share after the ritual if you would like. We hope to see you there!

Event TIME Details: 7:00 PM
Directions: The Unitarian Universalist Church is located at 274 Pleasant Street, Concord New Hampshire, two buildings west of Concord Hospital.
From the North (via I-89)
Take Exit 2 from I-89, turn right at the end of the ramp. Proceed to the first traffic light. Turn left onto Langley Parkway. Turn left at the next traffic light onto Pleasant Street, then immediately right into the church driveway.
From the North (via I-93)
Take Exit 14 from I-93, turn right at the end of the ramp. Proceed to the next traffic right. Turn left onto South Main Street. Proceed to the next traffic light and turn right onto Pleasant Street. Proceed through four traffic lights, past Concord Hospital, then Concord Orthopedics on the right. The next driveway belongs to the church.
From the South (via I-93)
Take Exit 13 from I-93, turn left at the end of the ramp. Proceed through three traffic lights. Turn left onto Pleasant Street. Proceed through four traffic lights, past Concord Hospital, then Concord Orthopedics on the right. The next driveway belongs to the church.
From the East (via Route 4)
Take Route 4 West, then I-393 West to the end. Turn left onto North Main Street. Go past the State House to the next light. Turn right onto Pleasant Street. Proceed through four lights, past Concord Hospital, then Concord Orthopedics on the right. The next driveway belongs to the church.
From the West (via Route 202/9)
Take SR 9 /US 202 East to I-89 South. Take Exit 2 from I-89, turn right at the end of the ramp. Proceed to the first traffic light. Turn left onto Langley Parkway. Turn left at the next traffic light onto Pleasant Street, then immediately right into the church driveway.
