Belly Dancing for Fun

Learn to Belly Dance with Raushanna!
Event Details: Tuesday, June 4, 18, 25 July 2, 9, 16 (six session class)
Price includes all 6 sessions
Belly dance is an ancient and beautiful dance form, and is a wonderful way to combine aerobic activity with attaining increased muscle strength and flexibility, and improved posture and coordination. Most of all, belly dancing is FUN!
In this six session course, we will focus on basic and intermediate dance movements and isolations, and their use in choreography, as we familiarize ourselves with Middle Eastern music and its varied rhythms. You don't have to be a "skinny minnie" to enjoy belly dancing. We do not concentrate on fast cabaret style belly dancing; we prefer the original folk dance style. Our focus is fun, balance and gracefulness, higher self esteem, fun, more flexibility, and oh, did we mention fun?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows flexibility of movement; bring a hip scarf if you have one; no experience necessary. Hip scarves in many styles, colors, and price ranges are available for purchase at Off the Beaten Path. Beginners, as well as those who have taken belly dance classes before, are welcome to join us for this new dance routine.
If registration exceeds 4 people, a second session from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. will be scheduled to allow for adequate individual attention.
Nancy Fader, "Raushanna", has been dancing and performing for over 20 years (Troop Odalisque; Fantasy) and has been teaching classes and workshops for over ten years.
