Sacred Light Center announces...
Liberation Arts-provide dance, sound & art theater
When: Nov 9th, 2nd Friday each month

Provide dance, sound & art theater
Event Details: Liberation arts is a ceremony in which we creatively connect to the
process of freedom. We expressively and artistically share our
frustration at the troubles of the world. Improvisation allows us to
create abstract spaces of freedom that offset the greater reality of
attachment. The result is therapy, resilience, education & joy. This
is for seekers who wish to release stress through sound and art
therapy.
The ceremony forms as a lightly structured percussion and dance
circle. From there we perform theater based on themes that provide the
focus for our content. Through a mixture of improvisation and
choreography, we play percussion and melody instruments, dance and do
expressive movement, sing calls and chorus, and do spoken word. Come
recite poetry, play the guitar, play the flute, or just come dance.
The sessions is not for spectators but for all to participate. Themes
can trigger emotions of fear and anger. A circle of equally committed
participants provides the best support and gives the ceremony oneness.
We are all part of this. Your participation will be unique to you and
will add a needed component.
We won't take ourselves seriously. We are handling our rage in a happy
heart felt way. Anyone at anytime can break the tension with a joke or
a laugh. Group multidisciplinary improve is challenging, so we always
fall back on laughter.
