Las Vegas Pagan Pride Day

When: Sep. 25th. 2004
Where: Las Vegas, Nevada

PPD w/ Speakers, Tarot Readers, music, auction and fun

Event Details: Merry Meet Las Vegas!

Las Vegas has a diverse and varied Pagan community and September 25th will be a day in which we will have a chance to connect with each other, one spiral at at time. Volunteers and organizers are a reflection of our great community spirit in Las Vegas, representing such groups as the Ordo Templi Orientis, Desert Moon Circle, The Toteg Tribe, The Tantric Shamanism Institute, the Las Vegas Pagan Information Exchange, the Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans of Las Vegas, the Crystal Chamber, the Southern Nevada Pagan Resource Circle, and Ghost Hunter Magazine.

Held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Las Vegas, (3616 E. Lake Mead Blvd) and sponsored by myriad alternative spirituality and Pagan groups, LVPPD 2004 will be a showcase of our community's joys and talents. Musicians such as metaphysical rapper Christian Fitzharris, Eric Galligan, Andrew Koch, Chad Martinez, North Wind and rockers Leo Starwind and the Raft will be part of the featured entertainment. Fire spinners, stage magician Israel Mandrake, drummers and bellydancers will also be performing.

Guest speakers will offer informative classes on a wide array of topics ranging from Reiki to paranormal investigations. They will include Bob Gratrix from Desert Moon Circle, Terrence Williams, the Lodge Master of the Serpentine Splendour Lodge, Jeff O'Connel from Ghost Hunter Magazine, Dr. Elizabeth King from the Crystal Chamber and Sylivia Brallier of the Tantric Shamanism Institute.

Food and drinks will be for sale by the Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans of Las Vegas (CUUPSLV) . They encourage you to bring your own plates and utensils to help the environment, but they will be provided if needed. Feel free to bring chairs and blankets for relaxing under the trees.

Several social action groups will be represented, including the Sierra Club of Southern Nevada, AFAN, the Gay and Lesbian Community Center, the Las Vegas Community Artists Group and the New Voter's Project. Don't forget to bring a few dollars because there will be activities for your entire family, such as children's crafts, face painting, as well as people providing divination. You can also win one of the community donated items in the silent auction. Don't forget to go to the website www.lvpaganpride.org and click on the slot machine to win more information about the event, FAQs, and a way to get the LV Pagan Pride T-shirt.

Festivities begin at 11am with a ritual and will continue until 6pm, with an indoor concert beginning at 5pm.

Admission is free.

This event is also a school supply and canned food drive. Please bring canned foods to donate to the community food bank and school supplies to be donated to a local school.
