Event Details: Coláiste Draoicht Seminary is an institution of higher learning dedicated to the study and practice of modern Druidism. We offer courses in Celtic studies, philosophy, theology, herbology, and the arts to name a few. CDS promotes freedom of thought and beliefs. As a community, we are inspired as much by modern science and academic discipline as we are by Iron Age culture, medieval romances, and ancient myths. All our work is based both in the Celtic reconstruction and Modern scholarly work.
CDS offers a complete course of study to become ordained as a Druid in the Druid Order of the Sacred Grove with certifications in nine programs of study -- Scholar of Healing Arts, Scholar of Magical Arts, Scholar of Philosophical Arts, Scholar of Divinatory Arts, Scholar of Cultural Arts, Scholar of Historical Arts, Scholar of Performing Arts, Scholar of Ritual Arts, Scholar of Education Arts. We also offer three non priesthood programs: Master of Ovate Studies, Master of Bardic Arts, and Master of Brehon Studies.
The Coláiste Draoicht Seminary offers several Druidic studies programs, as well as programs tied to the roles of Bard, Ovate, and Brehon. Students may choose to focus on Bardic, Brehon or Ovate Studies to pursue those roles within their local grove or in their personal career. Those who feel called to the Pagan Ministry or teaching here in the Seminary may continue with work toward the title Druid. Within each program, students are required to complete certain core courses and a number of electives distributed among the departments. This allows all our students to have a shared foundation and the freedom to pursue their own particular talents in more depth.
The Coláiste Draoicht Seminary enrollment process includes membership in the Druid Order of the Sacred Grove. The Order seeks to train the new generation of Druids to continue our way into the future. The Coláiste Draoicht Seminary plans in the future to establish a physical campus with a residential program where students and faculty can gather to learn from each other face-to-face.
Presently, all of our programs are offered only in areas where we have a Grove established. Currently, we have full groves in Las Vegas, NV and Lubbock , TX with a new full member Grove forming in North Carolina; as well as seed Groves forming in Minden, NV and in Canada. For students wishing to study through our distance learning program, you will be assigned to the member Grove closest to your home, who will assign you a mentor and supply you with the courses.
