Bellydance/Goddess-dance Classes

BELLYDANCE/GODDESS-DANCE with Zan Asha
Event Details: Learn the intricacies of some of the oldest dance forms in the world! The beautiful, creative and sensual moves in Eastern dances, particularly belly dance and East Indian Dance, are some of the best known dances of the feminine. We will explore these moves through hip, chest, and arm movements, and eventually combine these as expressions of the goddess, and as a way to celebrate our own gifts.
This is a great, low impact way to exercise, have fun, and express your creative inner self. The classes are challenging, but slow enough that all students learn the fundamental movements of Eastern dance.
Instructor Zan Asha has spent more than 10 years as a belly dancer, dance instructor, and is currently the leader of New York City's experimental ethnic dance troupe ChoveXani (see www.chovexani.com for more) . A graduate of NYU's film and theater program, she has spent considerable time creating interesting worlds that combine theater, storytelling, and dance. She now brings years of experience to teach the dances that she loves.
Classes: $15 Each
