EOSTAR, THE FESTIVAL OF TREES MARCH – 21-23
The Moon of the maiden and Faery folk. Gather the seeds of inspiration and imagine what they can grow into. Build an Altar to the Moon and bless your garden in the moonlight. Prepare the earth for planting and yourself for change. The time when the chains of winter are broken, Spring has arrived, This is the time when all of life burst forth in joyous celebration.
This is the time when the Goddess Hecate returns to the underworld and Persephone returns to Demeter rising from the Depths of the Underworld with Hades and bringing forth new life.
Equal balance of day and night, when all the elements within us must be brought into a new harmony. The arrival of Spring begins to enliven the environment with new growth and new born animals begin to emerge and explore the world. Many people feel "reborn" after the long nights and coldness of winter. The Germanic Goddess Ostara or Eostre (Goddess of the Dawn) , after whom Easter is named, is the tutelary deity of this holiday. It is she, as herald of the sun, who announces the triumphant return of life to the earth. A joyful time, the seed time, when life bursts forth from the earth and the chains of winter are broken. Now is the time to see how well our own souls are balanced and to plant those things that we are lacking in ourselves. It is a time to look within our hearts to see the empty spaces to be filled.
Hair is adorned with flowers, Eggs are decorated as they are symbols of rebirth.
A PARTICIPATORY RITUAL WHICH EVERYONE IS A PARTICIPANT.
$15.00 Attire: suggested attire colors are pastels: pink, green, violet, blue etc. (not required for attendance) .
EVERYONE OF ALL AGES ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US.
PLEASE ALSO BRING WINES, JUICES, CAKES, COOKIES FOR US ALL TO SHARE.
IF ANYONE HAS HAND INSTRUMENTS PLEASE bring them, as we create our own music.
