Yule: The Flame of Renewal

The Light of Yule could not come at a better time!
Event Details: What a year...what an autumn...
The natural joy found in the Sabbat of Yule could not come at a more opportune time! As the northern hemisphere darkens at this time of year and as those of us in the Tri-State area continue to rebuild our cities and towns, the return of the Light at the Winter Solstice brings the promise of renewal. Please join us as we welcome the Light back to our hemisphere, communities, and selves.
The Oak and Holly Kings continue their battle for dominion over the Universe and the han
d of the Winter Queen. When the Oak King wins (Oops! Spoiler!) , the Winter Queen will bring through a Goddess to prophesy to the community. Participants will get the opportunity to speak with the Goddess privately, if they choose. All attending will get to take home a candle lit by the Yule flame. As a group, we will raise energy of renewal for our communities and world.
In honor of the Yuletide Child of Promise, we will be collecting on behalf of children impacted by hurricane Sandy. Please consider bringing the following, if you are able:
* New, unwrapped toys (Come on...is there anything more fun to donate/collect than TOYS????)
* Diapers
* Wipes
* Formula
* Baby/toddler food
Suggested donation is $10 or what you can, if you can. As always, no money? No problem. This money will pay for our space and facilitate transport of items collected to the sites. All other monies will be donated to organizations directly supporting children. Please do not bring outside food or drink as they will be available for purchase at the venue.
While we are working for children, the ritual and venue are not child friendly. : ( All guests over 18 are most welcome, however!
