Oche Nilogbe Ifa Oma announces...

Ifa Sign of the Year 2013 and misa/seance

When: Jan. 26th. 2013
Where: Massillon, Ohio

Ifa Sign of the Year 2013

Event Details: Ifa Sign of the Year

I do a special type of Ifa divination every year to find the sign for my Ile. This year I will hold the reading on Saturday January 26th at 7:30 PM. People can start arriving around 7:00 PM. This is a ceremony that people can attend even if they do not have any initiations in Ifa or Ocha. In addition to the reading, we thought that since people will be coming to our house, we will have a misa afterwords. A misa is similar to a seance. For information about misas, please see the following site:
A misa usually lasts anywhere from one to three hours. It just depends on how much the spirits have to say that night. The sign of the year and the misa are not related. You are invited to both, but you can attend only one if you want. Space is limited, so please email me if you would like to attend one or both ceremonies. Both of these events will be free. There are certain supplies needed to do a misa, and we ask that you contribute in exchange for your participation.

The traditional clothes used for both events follow:
People should wear white clothes. If you don't have white clothes, wear the lightest clothes you have. Definitely avoid black and red clothing. Men should wear pants, a shirt and a hat. Women should wear a dress and a kia (headscarf) . Women can also wear pants under their dresses if they want.
